Vintage Rest

About this piece

This piece shows an old truck resting quietly beside a winery building, bathed in the soft afternoon light.

As I looked at its weathered frame, I felt a quiet kinship—as if we had both come a long way and finally paused to breathe.

For me, “vintage” means more than just wine—it speaks to the quiet beauty of things, and lives, that have aged with grace.

Vintage Rest

The sunlight drapes the old brick wall,
The truck stands still, no need to call.
A quiet day, no rush, no race—
The scent of wine, a breeze of grace.

The creaking door recalls a time
When hours moved in gentler rhyme.
Forgotten breaths begin anew,
In stillness brushed with morning dew.

The years have turned like rings in wood,
Each one carved by all we could.
I lean against the old truck’s frame,
And feel we’ve aged the very same.

The sunlight drapes the old brick wall,
Today I rest, no plans at all.
No need to chase, no need to try—
Just let the warmth of time drift by.
