About this piece
This painting captures a quiet moment of rest beneath the trees at a winery.
For me, painting and resting come and go like breath—one flowing into the other, without separation.
A peacock wanders by, a painting sits half-finished on the easel, and a glass of wine waits on the table.
Watching, creating, and enjoying—all are gently layered into this single scene at Picchetti Winery.
The Artist's Break
Lyrics by Eimei
When sunlight rests and stills my hand,
the wine glass hums as if it planned.
No need to rush, no need to try—
some days just breathe and wander by.
The peacock’s feathers drift and fall,
my sketch lines blur, then not at all.
Like gazing out beyond the frame,
the world completes what I can’t name.
If this soft moment were a page,
I wouldn’t paint—I’d just engage.
Unfinished strokes, they feel just right,
a corner of this peaceful light.
When sunlight rests and stills my hand,
the wine glass smiles, it understands.
To paint, to pause—both have their place,
within this quiet, open space.
