About this piece
After living in Silicon Valley for over two decades, I joined a local painting club and was introduced to the historic Gamble Garden during a plein air session. I was stunned—how could I not have known about this tranquil, flower-filled gem nestled in the heart of Palo Alto?
Reading about Elizabeth Frances Gamble and her legacy, I was inspired by how her generosity and love for nature still echo through these grounds. This painting captures a moment of quiet bloom, honoring the garden’s heritage and the simple beauty of a spring morning.
Voices in the Garden
Lyrics by Eimei
🎶【Verse 1】
I never knew this place was here—
Though I’ve lived nearby for many years.
Along the path where tulips sway,
Time gently loosens its threads away.
🎶【Chorus】
Voices echo in the garden, carried on the breeze,
Gamble’s tale among the trees,
Soaked into the roots and leaves.
In this painted hush of bloom, memories arise—
And kindness still lives here, beneath the skies.
🎶【Verse 2】
A dream from far-off Kentucky days,
Not chasing fame, but heart to raise.
Sharing flowers, peace, and ground,
Leaving love that still goes round.
🎶【Chorus】
Voices echo in the garden, carried on the breeze,
Gamble’s tale among the trees,
Soaked into the roots and leaves.
In this painted hush of bloom, memories arise—
And kindness still lives here, beneath the skies.
