Listening to the Shoreline
Medium: Ink and watercolor on paper
Size: 11" x 15"
Year: 2025
About this piece
Painted on the boardwalk at Palo Alto Baylands, this work reflects a quiet moment where land and water meet.
The receding lines of the boardwalk guide the eye forward, while the stillness encourages listening rather than looking.
As the wind repeatedly lifted the paper during the process, painting became an act of attentiveness—
to subtle presence, passing air, and the quiet boundary of the shoreline.
A companion piece to Boardwalk to the Sky, this work remains grounded, listening closely to the land below.
