Sitting on a bench at the entrance of the Portola Valley Library, I painted the Town Hall surrounded by winter trees and evergreens. The soft winter light, quiet shadows, and open plaza made the scene feel calm and welcoming as people came and went. I wanted to capture the gentle balance between public space and nature.
