Painted in early summer, this piece captures a courtyard in Menlo Park at high noon.  The sunlight fell straight from above, casting short and sharp shadows, while the bougainvillea bloomed as if time had paused.

 

I remember the stillness—not empty, but full of presence, as if something unseen was gently holding the space.
