I painted a section of Cuesta Park as if it were a golf green. A solitary tree stands where a flagstick might be, with a ring of fallen leaves at its base and a darker band to the right that suggests a bunker. I wanted to capture the quiet slope of the green and the near-bare branches at the end of winter.
